The Department of Energy (DOE) has published a Notice of Opportunity for Technical Assistance (NOTA) for the Solar America Showcases project. The Solar America Showcases project is designed to help facilitate large-scale, high-visibility solar installation projects that have the ability to impact the market for solar technologies through large project size (more than 250 kW), use of a novel solar technology, and/or use of a novel application for a solar technology. In addition, it is desired that the projects be replicable or have replicable components.
The Solar America Showcases project does not include direct Federal Government funding for any recipient. Instead, technical assistance will be provided through teams of DOE-funded solar experts from national laboratories. The funding amount for Solar America Showcases is up to $500,000 of technical assistance per award.
The current quarter’s application deadline is March 31, 2009. The NOTA will reopen and close each subsequent quarter of 2009. Applications received prior to the end of each quarter (June 30, September 30, and December 31) will be reviewed during the following quarter.
