Renewable Energy Long Island (RELI), which published a regional green directory and consumer guide last year has seen such an increase in requests for listings by green businesses that it is now updating and expanding the region’s most comprehensive green vendor directory, called the Long Island Green Guide.
The updated print and online edition of the LIGreenGuide will offer practical information for consumers seeking greener choices and a directory of green businesses and professionals as a handy one-stop reference for Long Islanders shopping for a greener future.
“Our LI GreenGuide is the region’s most comprehensive and up-to-date green directory and, best of all, it’s a free resource for consumers and listings are free of charge for qualifying businesses,” said Gordian Raacke, RELI Executive Director.
Listings are free of charge but interested businesses and professionals must complete an online form at to be considered for inclusion in the directory. The updated print edition of the LIGreenGuide will be available in September, in time for distribution at Renewable Energy Long Island’s Annual Long Island Solar Tour and Open House on October 3th.
The guide will also be distributed throughout the year at events and other venues and there is a continuously updated searchable web version at . The directory lists services in a number of categories, including building professionals such as green architects, builders, realtors and landscapers, energy efficiency and renewable energy contractors, organic farmers, and green retailers.
Last year, the directory had 127 green listings for Long Island, this year the count is already twice that and growing.
