NY asks LIPA to remove an external disconnect switch requirement for small systems

On August 17, 2011 New York enacted legislation (A.B. 5525) directing the Long Island Power Authority  (LIPA) to comply with a provision of the New York Standard Interconnection Requirements (SIR), which exempt inverter-based facilities of 25 kW or less from having a utility external disconnect switch (UEDS).
