Association Reports 100 Percent Year over Year Growth
The Distributed Wind Energy Association (DWEA) recently announced that over 100 new members have joined the organization since its founding in 2010. DWEA members represent a wide variety of industry leaders in the Distributed and Community Wind industry, from entry-level managers to CEOs, in the public and private sectors, and organizations of all sizes. A listing of all of the DWEA members can be found here.
“We are thrilled to reach the 100 member benchmark at the Distributed Wind Energy Association,” proclaimed DWEA Executive Director Jennifer Jenkins. “The rapid growth of the membership over the last two years is a testament to our advocacy work and ability to engage our members on issues that affect their bottom line.”
New DWEA members join a growing and dynamic professional association of manufacturers, distributors, project developers, dealers, installers, and advocates whose primary mission is to promote and foster all aspects of the American distributed wind energy industry. Many companies join DWEA to provide a unified voice for the wind energy industry, and help develop federal, state and local policies that support expansion of the distributed wind energy market.
According to Joe Guasti, president, Guasti Construction, Inc., “Through collaboration with DWEA’s members, we are able to better provide an affordable, reliable turbine to residential communities.” Business Manager Bershu Nkwawir, Mechanical Drives, Siemens Canada, touted, “Joining DWEA has afforded me and my team access to an impressive network and vast body of resources to support our business priorities.”
As part of the association, members participate in a variety of committees focused on furthering the Distributed and Community Wind Industry, and get access to critical news, industry best practices and a network of thought leaders. More information can be found on membership in DWEA here.
