IREC announces Brian Lydic has joined the not-for-profit as regulatory engineer to be part of IREC’s national team of regulatory policy experts.
“We are thrilled to have Brian, a known leader in the clean energy field, join the IREC regulatory team,” says IREC Regulatory Director Sara Baldwin Auck. “His technical expertise and experience will support IREC’s efforts across the country to increase consumer access to and streamline grid integration of distributed energy resources.”
In this new position, Brian will provide technical expertise on electricity distribution systems and utility electricity engineering for IREC’s broad regulatory presence across the U.S. Brian will collaborate closely with IREC’s team of regulatory attorneys and senior management. His experience includes helping develop codes and standards affecting the industry, and participating in working groups for UL 1741, IEEE 1547 and the National Electric Code.
Grounded in the latest research and objective analysis, IREC’s regulatory program aims to increase adoption of policies and regulatory reforms that expand access to and streamline grid integration of distributed energy resources to optimize their widespread benefits. These efforts support IREC’s mission to increase access to sustainable energy and energy efficiency through independent fact-based policy leadership, quality workforce development and consumer empowerment.
Brian lives in Ann Arbor, MI with his wife Willi and enjoys the farmer’s market, kayaking and playing music with (and for) friends, including on stage at industry gatherings, for example in Solar Battle of the Bands at Intersolar North America.
