A Shared Vision @35

Throughout 2017, you will see celebratory signs of our 35th year, kicked off this week with our IREC@35 event in Washington, DC, March 8th. It was an extraordinary evening with IREC friends, supporters and partners during which we reveled in our collective achievements, and acknowledged the legendary accomplishments of our dear friend and respected colleague, IREC President Emeritus Jane Weissman.

Throughout 2017, you will see celebratory signs of our 35th year, kicked off with our IREC@35 event in Washington, DC, March 8th. It was an extraordinary evening with IREC friends, supporters and partners during which we reveled in our collective achievements, and acknowledged the legendary accomplishments of our dear friend and respected colleague, IREC President Emeritus Jane Weissman.

We also had the pleasure of honoring two distinctive 2017 IREC Energy Heroes: U.S. Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) and  Congressman Paul Tonko (D-NY).

We released a new report the same day, IREC IMPACT@35, which highlights the top 8 results of IREC’s impactful work over more than three decades, along with a complementary Impact@35 Timeline.

Our regulatory and workforce teams are busy polishing up several new resources and initiatives, for policymakers, industry and allied industry professionals. While you’ll see these released in the coming months, one new resource is posted here, Five Guiding Principles for Shared Renewable Energy, a new addition to the IREC Model Rules for Shared Renewable Energy Programs.

Here’s to a busy, productive, successful 2017 that acknowledges our history and our shared vision for the future – a world powered by clean sustainable energy, where society’s interests are valued and protected.
