Last week, IREC joined 27,000 clean energy professionals at RE+, the annual conference on solar energy, battery storage, and related industries. With the recent passage of the Inflation Reduction Act and expectations for dramatic clean energy growth in the coming years, this is an exciting time to be part of the clean energy community.

At the conference, IREC was the beneficiary of the Solar Fight Night fundraiser, with proceeds going to support our work facilitating the rapid and equitable adoption of clean energy. This was a fantastic event that will do a lot to support IREC. Thanks to everyone who attended for your support!

IREC staff led presentations at RE+ on a variety of clean energy topics. In addition to those pictured below, Avery Palmer, communications project director, gave an overview of the National Solar Jobs Census; Senior Program Manager Megan Howes discussed partnerships for recruiting veteran talent; and Program Director Pagan Poggione discussed the Clean Energy Clearinghouse, a one-stop educational resource.

Program Director Richard Lawrence (above) and Senior Program Manager Megan Howes held a poster reception about apprenticeship options in the solar industry.
Radina Valova, Vice President — Regulatory Program (far right) spoke on innovative policies to unlock energy storage’s capabilities and benefits. She also discussed enabling equitable EV shared mobility programs.
Dr. Janell Hills, director of workforce programs (third from right), spoke on tools for scaling workforce growth. She also invited companies to join the National Clean Energy Workforce Alliance.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended an IREC presentation, stopped by our booth, or donated to support IREC programs! If you have questions or ideas for partnership, we would love to hear from you. And don’t forget to sign up for our upcoming Vision Summit and REUnion reception in Washington, D.C. on October 19!
