Plans are underway for the third national conference on New Ideas in Educating a Workforce in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. This event will be held in the fall of 2009 in Albany, New York.
“Green” jobs are the foundation for the new clean energy sector emerging across the country. The conference will offer the most current information on instructional strategies, curricula development, and best practices for training in the renewable energy and energy efficiency fields. Pre-conference, technical workshops will be held followed by 2 days of conference sessions.

The conference is sponsored by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority and organized by the Interstate Renewable Energy Council, Inc.. The conference planners include representatives from the Partnership for Environmental Technology Education, Hudson Valley Community College, US Department of Energy, Lane Community College, Oakland Community College, SunPower Corp., the Workforce Development Institute and others.
