ASES Gearing up for its 39th Conference, May 17-22 in Phoenix

SOLAR 2010 is presented by the American Solar Energy Society, with significant local support from its chapter the Arizona Solar Energy Association. In addition, for SOLAR 2010, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers will co-locate its 4th International Conference on Energy Sustainability with SOLAR 2010. The ASME program will contribute hundreds of technical paper presentations to the program.

SOLAR 2010 will present sessions organized into eight separate tracks.

Advancing Renewable Energy Technology
Sessions in this track will bring engineers, researchers, students, installers the latest information on equipment advances and comparisons, testing and measuring the solar resource, new types of renewable energy technologies, research best practices, case studies and more! Technologies covered include solar electric, solar thermal, concentrating solar power, wind, biomass and other renewable fuels, transportation and resource assessment and applications.

Crafting Effective Policy and Advocacy
Sessions in this track show policy makers and implementers and renewable energy advocates the best policies and community projects; highlight utility, government and non-profit programs; and teach you how to craft, advocate for, and implement effective policies and programs in your community, city or state.

Developing and Financing New Energy Markets
In this track, we “Show You the Money!” Bankers, developers, consultants, marketers and program managers – learn about financing models and mechanisms that have been used successfully throughout the world. Learn how to successfully market your business, product, service or program. Get the latest updates on the solar industry’s market and employment outlook, and benefit from the experience of business development, financial, marketing and project management experts.

Educating and Training the New Energy Society
This track is designed to help educators and students be more effective. Learn about community college, university and professional education programs, best practices, and opportunities. Sessions cover curriculum, certification, teaching tools and innovative programs.

Enhancing and Expanding Your Business
This track is designed for business owners, dealers and installers, manufacturers and consultants. It includes the Solar Success! Training Event and Manufacturer, Marketing and Business Development trainings and workshops.

Transforming the Built Environment
Sessions in this track will help architects, builders, energy services companies and consultants design, build and evaluate low-energy buildings. Case studies, measurement tools, important new methods and programs are highlighted. Improve or expand your architecture practice, add Health, Safety and Welfare and Sustainable Design CEU’s to your AIA transcript and incorporate green and energy efficient features into your buildings.

Preparing for Your “Green” Career

This track includes information for everyone wanting to change or enhance their career in renewable energy. activities and information available in the Green Jobs Resource Center.

Taking the Next Step – Putting Solar Energy to Work for You
Learn about installing solar energy on your home or business – lower your energy costs, support energy independence, and reduce carbon emissions. Sessions in this track are offered on Public Day – Saturday, May 22, and are included, along with admission to the Exhibit Hall, in your $5 Exhibit Hall registration.
