From an earlier IREC post:
On December 29, the Indiana Utilities Regulatory Commission (IURC) issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NOPR) for an updated net metering rule. It would raise the eligible system size limit from 10 kW to 1 MW and extend net metering benefits from just residential and K-12 schools to all electric customers. It would also increase the aggregate participation cap from .1 to 1 % of a utility’s most recent summer peak load and 40% of that 1% would be reserved for residential customers. It would also allow for an indefinite rollover of excess generation credits. Currently all excess credits are gifted to the utility at the end of an annual period. For more information, the NOPR can be viewed here. The IURC noted its intent to schedule a hearing to gather public comments about the proposed rule.
