The Interstate Renewable Energy Council, Inc. (IREC)’s ISPQ credentialing program is searching for professionals to serve as IREC ISPQ Registered Assessors. IREC is the North American administrator for the Institute for Sustainable Power Quality (ISPQ) International Standard for the Accreditation and Certification of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Training Providers. As such, we assess content, quality, and resources across a broad range of energy efficiency/weatherization and renewable energy training programs.

Assessors play a key role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of the IREC ISPQ evaluation process. Through a practice of thorough review, they ensure that applicants for accreditation or certification meet all of the requirements of the IREC ISPQ Standard.  Assessors work with candidates through an ongoing exchange to assess their application, in certain cases traveling to applicant locations to perform on-site assessments.

IREC ISPQ Registered Assessors must have experience in the energy efficiency/weatherization or renewable energy fields, and demonstrated organizational and evaluation skills.

A candidate from academia will normally have a formal education in engineering, science, engineering technology, building science, or an energy-related field.

Candidates from other than academia will normally have a formal education to the bachelor’s degree level or higher, and five (5) or more years experience in an energy efficiency/weatherization or renewable energy discipline.

Interested parties can visit the IREC ISPQ website for more information, or to complete an application. Electronic applications are accepted. Please contact Kristen Ferguson ([email protected]) with questions.
