IREC is undertaking an ambitious and timely task of reviewing and revising its international Standard 01022, the gold standard of quality for renewable Standard 01022 coverenergy and energy efficiency training programs and trainers.

In early 2013, IREC will convene a working group who will be tasked with revising standard requirements before seeking public comment on the proposed changes. In order to ensure that the standard reflects current industry practices, IREC has been collecting feedback through an online stakeholder survey. This feedback will be used by the working group to inform changes in standard and by IREC to improve the application and assessment process.

Members of the working group will represent a number of stakeholder categories including: training program administrators and trainers from community colleges and universities, trade and technical schools and private training organizations; curriculum and instructional design specialists; renewable energy and energy efficiency professionals; related trade associations, industry groups and professional societies; experienced standards developers and any individual or organization who feels they will be materially affected by this standard revision activity.

Those who have an interest in participating with the standard revision for the credentialing of energy efficiency and renewable energy programs and instructors should contact IREC credentialing staff for an application form before February 15, 2013.  Please email: [email protected] or call (518) 621-7379.
