2012 is IREC’s 30th year, and the sixth year in a row to co-locate its annual meeting at Solar Power International, also in Orlando.  Mark your calendar for Monday, September 10th, for IREC’s Annual Meeting in Orlando.

Details are in the works, but count on IREC team members, as well as key stakeholders, to zero in on pivotal issues that affect IREC members, state and industry audiences. The day-long gathering of friends, colleagues and well-known influencers will discuss market trends and share best practices in the renewable energy and energy efficiency space.  As usual, IREC’s Annual Updates & Trends Report will be distributed, and the winner of IREC’s Innovation and Special Recognition Awards will be announced.  Click here to see the 2011 Innovation and Special Recognition Awardees.

Minnesota Pioneers Integration of New Interconnection Standard Expected to Propel DERs

On Nov. 14, Minnesota became the first state to officially integrate the recently updated IEEE Standard 1547™-2018 into its statewide interconnection regulations when the Minnesota Public Service Commission adopted a new statewide technical standards document, known as the Technical Interconnection and Interoperability Requirements (TIIR). As part of their ruling, and heeding IREC’s recommendation, the Commission determined that the Distributed Generation Working Group will need to address a number of important near-term implementation details to ensure a smooth rollout of the standards.
