IREC is seeking applicants for a Workforce Development and Training Field Coordinator. Through a statewide network of training providers, NYSERDA, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, supports a variety of clean energy workforce development (WFD) and training initiatives. IREC, the Implementation Contractor, in coordination with NYSERDA, is responsible for various implementation activities to help Energy Efficiency (EE), Renewable Energy (RE) and Advanced Technologies (AT) training and standards gain wide-scale market acceptance.

Program activities include, but are not limited to: 

 Coordination and effective communication across a statewide network of training providers;

 Assisting with reviewing and processing NYSERDA training incentives and open enrollment program applications;

 Collecting, analyzing and reporting a wide range of WFD program metrics;

 Assisting with coordinating NYSERDA WFD initiatives;

 Conducting informational sessions and webinars for training providers;

 Identifying case studies and testimonials;

 Evaluating and updating training partner information that will be available on the NYSERDA website.

 

The Field Coordinator will be based in IREC’s Albany office, as part of a team that includes the Program Manager, and additional administrative and support staff from both NYSERDA and IREC, all working synergistically on related and complementary efforts, and will provide support in the areas of program coordination, data collection and transfer, program analysis, program strategies and tactics, and planning.

The Field Coordinator will be responsible for: 

 Developing strong working relationships with each training provider organization;

 Facilitating the exchange of information and data via various reporting mechanisms;

 Assessing whether milestones and requirements of training provider contracts are being met;

 Providing guidance and feedback to ensure success of the NYSERDA Workforce Development and Training Program;

 Other duties and responsibilities as required.

 

Required minimum qualifications an individual must possess include: 

 5 or more years in education and/or training of adults, ideally within a grant-funded environment;

 Program evaluation experience, preferably within a technical discipline;

 Strong written and interpersonal communication skills necessary to interact and manage relationships with key stakeholders;

 Proven ability to work independently;

 A reliable vehicle is a requirement, as extensive travel is required within the State of New York (reimbursable);

 Experience using program management databases is a plus;

 Understanding of Renewable Energy and/or Energy Efficiency technologies and practices is highly desireable.

 

Minimum educational requirements an individual must possess include: 

 A Bachelor’s degree (an Educational degree is a plus), or 7+ years of relevant experience.

 

Salary: 

This is a grant-funded, two-year salaried position, with the possibility for extension. Salary and benefits package is competitive and will be based on qualifications and experience.
