Employment Opportunity – Director of Operations

The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners is seeking to hire a Director of Operations to oversee all management activities associated with its growing Albany N.Y. area office. The position includes responsibilities for financial oversight, office management, guidance and supervision of staff. The candidate will maintain designated programs to ANSI personnel credentialing standards.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of ten-years organizational management experience. A proven record of executing successful growth strategies in their work history as well as demonstrated experience managing a multi-talented staff is required.  Strong proven leadership skills, excellent written and oral communications, team working, influencing, networking and the ability to work with people at all levels and across the organization is required.

Job Description

Title: NABCEP Director of Operations
Reports to: NABCEP Executive Director
Location: Clifton Park, NY

Description: A senior level person with responsibilities for financial oversight, office management, and guidance and supervision of staff. Maintain designated programs to ANSI personnel credentialing standards. Coordinate efforts with the NABCEP Executive Director.

The Director of Operations duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee all aspects of office operations;
  • Engage in grant writing and administration;
  • Engage in vendor contract negotiation and administration;
  • Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with vendors;
  • Manage all aspects of human resources, staff guidance and supervision;
  • Manage database;
  • Monitor and enforce application of Certification Mark Usage Policy;
  • Ensure ongoing adherence to ANSI and ISO/IEC 17024 certification standards;
  • Interface with other organizations that use the office and administration services of NABCEP
  • Analyze, create and track annual budget;
  • Manage all billing and reporting to funding agencies;
  • Interface with auditors;
  • Ensure that all necessary reporting for NABCEP receivables and tax filings occur on a timely basis;
  • Make bank deposits on a timely basis; and;
  • Oversee the bookkeeping function:  reconciliation of bank statements, A/P, A/R, journal entries, etc.
