Sarah Wright, Executive Director of Utah Clean Energy, received Utah Business magazine’s Green Pioneer award recently for her for her tireless work and numerous accomplishments in advancing energy efficiency and renewable energy policies and programs since founding Utah Clean Energy in 2001. The October issue of Utah Business magazine recognized 19 green business eco-champions energizing Utah’s environmental efforts. Congratulations, Sarah, on a job well done.
Adding to Utah Clean Energy’s successes is the completion of the fully scoped city and county level Solar Implementation Plan which outlines strategies to facilitate at least 10 megawatts (or an additional 10,000 solar PV systems) of new solar photovoltaic (PV) installations in Utah’s government, commercial, industrial, and residential sectors by 2015. Utah Clean Energy, which manages Solar Salt Lake (a US DOE Solar America Community), is an innovative partnership with Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah Clean Energy and other partners to substantially expand the use of solar energy throughout Salt Lake Valley.
As if that’s not enough, Solar Salt Lake also launched a comprehensive Salt Lake Solar Mapping Website featuring solar information, a rooftop solar resource tool, solar news, and important steps to go solar.
But wait…there’s more…
A series of Solar Salt Lake Project billboards have sprung up across Salt Lake County. I’ll be there over the Xmas holidays (I’ll send pictures).
