NYSERDA’s Small Wind Program Manager Mayhew Receives Award
NYSERDA On-Site Wind Program Recognized as National/International Leader

At the 7th annual Small Wind Conference held mid-June in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Mark Mayhew of NYSERDA was recognized for his achievements in small wind program development and administration. Mayhew, NYSERDA’s RPS Customer-sited Tier On-site Wind Manager, was presented with the Wind Advocate Award for recognition of enthusiasm, dedication, advocacy, and outstanding work in the small wind industry. In addition, at least half the presenters gave accolades to Mayhew and NYSERDA for its leadership in establishing and maintaining a vetted list of turbines deemed eligible for program incentives (multiple states and regions in Canada have since adopted this list); their work with NABCEP in developing the criteria for Certified Wind Installers and Wind Site Assessors; and the development of a performance-based incentive program which is being heralded as a shining example of a public benefits program that advances the industry while serving its base.
