The message is clear. The foundation of a skilled, knowledgeable workforce is good training – which prepares workers to safely and effectively perform the tasks solar energy jobs require – and ultimately protects individual businesses and the solar industries.

“As solar energy continues to expand rapidly across America, a new generation of well-trained workers will be needed to help keep pace. That’s why it’s more important than ever to commit to quality workforce training,” said SEIA President and CEO Rhone Resch. “We are urging all solar companies, regardless of their size, to sign the IREC/SEIA Commitment to Quality Solar Workforce Training as a way to strengthen our industry moving forward.”

IREC President/CEO Jane Weissman: “High-quality training is essential to develop a skilled solar workforce. Effective training under this commitment uses industry’s best practice standards for curriculum and training methods.”

SEIA and IREC worked together at SPI to encourage attendees to join other industry leaders who have already signed the quality pledge.
