The schedule for the fourth national Clean Energy Workforce Education Conference, to be held in Saratoga, New York from March 8-10, 2011, features workshops and sessions that are certain to be of interest to the small wind community.
The conference is the one national event that brings together innovative educators who are training today’s green workforce. It offers current information on instructional strategies, curricula development, credentialing, and best practices for training in the renewable energy and energy efficiency fields.
Sessions and workshops specifically related to small wind include Roy Butler’s “Reality-Based Small Wind Installer Training” on Tuesday, March 8th. On Thursday, March 10th, Vicki Colello of NYSERDA will discuss “New Approaches to Wind Turbine Education” and Pam Page Carpenter of the North Carolina Solar Center will moderate a panel on “Integrating Wind Energy Education into K-12 Classrooms.”
The two-day conference will present some of the best approaches and teaching models underway at community colleges, technical high schools, skill centers, the trades, industry and other training centers and organizations across the country. The conference will be preceded by one day of technical workshops, followed by a two-day conference packed with information for those offering or planning training programs (degree granting, certification, continuing education, public education, etc.) for the renewable energy and energy efficiency markets.
The primary sponsor of the 2011 conference is the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA); IREC organizes the conference.
