STN_logo_color-WhiteBG-1024x389_063016For more than six years, IREC administered the Solar Instructor Training Network (SITN). Together with the U.S. Department of Energy and regional training providers, we collectively transformed solar training. Individuals coast-to-coast are now getting the right training and finding jobs. Together, we have successfully improved the solar education and training acumen for instructors, and ensured that instructors have the necessary tools to develop and grow effective solar programs.

We are pleased to announce the SITN successor program, the Solar Training Network.

Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy SunShot Initiative, the Solar Training Network will continue the momentum started by the SITN. This new program seeks to meet the needs of the growing solar industry by continuing to build the network of solar training providers, job seekers and employers. We hope and expect that this new program will be a valuable resource for you.

The newly configured Solar Training Network will be led by our friends at The Solar Foundation, a national non-profit based in Washington, D.C. We are proud of the work The Solar Foundation has done collecting solar jobs statistics and tracking employment trends. Their contribution to a well-trained and performing workforce will be an important addition for market durability and customer satisfaction.

The Solar Foundation and its partners on the Solar Training Network team are actively recruiting training providers and solar employers interested in joining the program. We encourage you to learn more and apply.  All training institutions that were part of the SITN will be grandfathered into this new program; apply online or email  to request more information.

We are very excited about this new program and the opportunity it presents to continue building and strengthening the solar workforce. Direct questions to [email protected].
