Solar Outreach Partnership Site Helps Local Governments Go Solar
Local governments interested in going solar can now find a wide range of information in the new Solar Outreach Partnership website.
A resource database, a calendar of events and trainings, and access to ‘Ask the Expert’ services and technical assistance offerings are part of the SunShot Solar Outreach Partnership’s (SolarOPs) ongoing efforts to provide timely and actionable information to local governments interested in solar energy adoption. Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) SunShot Initiative, SolarOPs is designed to help accelerate solar energy adoption on the local level by providing timely and actionable information to local governments.
Since 2010, IREC has been a part of the ICLEI-ICMA Solar Outreach Partnership, along with the North Carolina Solar Center, the Solar Electric Power Association, the Solar Foundation, and Meister Consultants Group, developing and delivering a comprehensive set of tools specifically tailored to help local governments go solar. The new website features many of these resources.
