The inaugural meeting of the Small Wind Association of Testers (SWAT) will take place July 26-29, during a 3-day workshop and tour. The venue is Amarillo, Texas, home of the first American Wind Energy Association National Meetings and now start to the SWAT forum. This workshop will bring together experts in testing, data collection, small system manufacturers, system suppliers, standard and certification bodies and government officials.

The first day will feature introductory sessions on current standards, the basics of data collection, and preparation for submission to certifying bodies.

Days two and three will focus more on techniques, with hands-on training in the afternoon and panel discussions and presentations on areas of concern for testers.

Networking time and exhibit access will be available throughout the conference.

An optional tour of regional test centers on morning of the 4th day will allow participants time to catch flights home on Friday afternoon.

You are invited to join this startup Association that aims to ensure testing of small systems is done correctly and consistently for all consumers. Detailed information is available at: www.windenergy.org/swat.  Or phone Alternative Energy Institute at (806) 651-2295, or contact by email at [email protected].
