On September 19, the Vermont Public Service Department released a Request for Information (RFI) related to the Department’s evaluation of net metering that was required by Act 125 of 2012. The RFI focuses on the analysis of the costs and benefits of net metering to non-participating ratepayers.
The Request for Information and a supplemental literature review are available for download at the Department’s website. The Department has undertaken several steps to begin its evaluation of Vermont’s net metering statute, rules, and procedures. In the document and associated supporting materials, the Department provides a summary of its analysis so far. The Department welcomes comments on any and all aspects of its work. Areas where the Department has specific questions on which it seeks public input are highlighted in this document. The Department provides he re description of assumptions that will underlie the outcome of the analysis – comments on the source or use of these assumptions is particularly desired.
The Department seeks public comments and information by October 24, 2012.
