Dartmouth College: Sustainable Energy Project

‹ Return to Dartmouth College: Sustainable Energy Project

Ascension Technology designed and installed a 4.8 kW (AC) photovoltaic system on the roof of the Murdough Hall to compliment teaching and student research within Dartmouth College’s Environmental Studies Program and Thayer School of Engineering. Student and facility will use the system to explore sustainable energy issues at the college. Energy produced by the systems will be compared with college’s electric power demand, the operation of the college’s eight-megawatt oil-fired co-generation power plant, and its electrical inter-tie to the New England Electric System. Photovoltaic system performance and campus energy demand information will be disseminated on Dartmouth’s home page on the World Wide Web.
