Weatherization Workforce Development: National Updates session

Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) Continuous Improvement Workshop on Workforce Development identified key recruitment and retention challenges for the network. The subsequent Workforce Needs Assessment surveyed grantees, subgrantees, and contractors on specific hiring needs. The National Clean Energy Workforce Alliance unites more than 500 cross-sector stakeholders to collaborate on solutions for education, training, and job placement. In this session, representatives from IREC, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and National Association of State Community Service Programs (NASCSP) will discuss the latest data on the national worker shortage, projects addressing these challenges, resources available, and potential policy solutions.

IREC’s Pagan Poggione will share information about the National Clean Energy Workforce Alliance, credentialing, and the Weatherization Assistance Program Enhancement & Innovation (E&I) project February 9 at 3:45-5 p.m. CST.
